As the fourth quarter of 2023 comes to a close, Sensor Tower has provided a snapshot of the performance trends for the top five Navigation and Maps applications on the Android platform in the United States. Here's how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a steady number of downloads throughout the quarter, starting at approximately 63K and peaking at around 68K. Weekly active users began at about 1.3M and saw fluctuations, ending slightly lower at around 1.2M.

Google Earth, another popular choice, experienced a decline in downloads from roughly 54K to 47K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users also saw a decrease, starting at around 472K and dipping to approximately 442K.

For GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation, the downloads showed a downward trend from about 25K to 21K, with a notable spike to around 31K in the last week. Active users had a slight decline from 157K to about 161K, indicating a possible increase in user engagement towards the quarter's end.

Google Maps Go downloads fluctuated, starting at approximately 19K, peaking at 22K, and then settling at 21K. Weekly active users remained fairly stable, with a slight increase from 45K to 48K over the quarter.

Lastly, GPS Offline Maps & Navigation saw its downloads hover around 19K-23K, with a slight upward trend towards the end of the quarter. Active users grew modestly from nearly 12K to over 13K.
